Jean-Marc Fleury

Unlike traditional watchmakers, Jean-Marc Fleury did not follow a classical watchmaking school.Trained in Micro-mechanics,he forged his horological knowledge through a rich hands-on experience with over adecade at Patek Philippe and then other renowned Manufactures, developing a deeply technica land pragmatic understanding of mechanical watchmaking. Driven by a profound respect for traditional horology and an uncompromising pursuit of excellence,he founded his own atelier in 2017 in Choulex,on the outskirts of Geneva.

Within Fleury Manufacture, Jean-Marc Fleury develops and craftshigh-end components and movements in small series, crafted primarily for independent haute horlogerie brands—many of them recipients of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève.Hi sapproach is guided by a constant search for function, performance, and quality, where each technical solution is conceived with clarity and purpose. This pursuit naturally extends to excellence in execution, with every component refined through traditional hand finishing techniques.

Beauty,in Jean-Marc Fleury’s work,is never decorative. It emerges from precision, proportion, and the choice of traditional finishes that magnify the architecture of the movement.Anglage ,satin-brushed surfaces, mirror (black polishing) polishing, and hand-executed details elevate each calibre into a coherent mechanical composition, where craftsmanship enhances performance.
Naturally, thisdedication led him in 2024 to create timepieces under his own signature. His creations embody mechanical integrity, architectural clarity, and artisanal mastery, standing apart from industrial standardization.Produced in very small numbers, they aredesigned for collectors who value authenticity, technical purity, and the quiet elegance of traditional watchmaking brought to its highest level.

“We make watches for those who wish to understand time differently.” Jean-Marc Fleury

The Chronograph FXR-4 Openwork
A Collection Enriched by Transparency

Since its introduction, the Chronographe FXR- 4 has embodied Jean-Marc Fleury’s uncompromising approach to mechanical watchmaking — one forged through decades of experience, including more than ten years at Patek Philippe, and further refined within his independent Haute Horlogerie Manufacture founded in Geneva in 2017.

Conceived as a modern interpretation of a great chronograph legacy, the FXR-4 established a foundation built on mechanical integrity, in-house mastery, and traditional finishing executed entirely by hand. Its architecture was designed to be coherent, legible, and enduring — whether viewed discreetly through the caseback or experienced on the wrist.

Today, Jean-Marc Fleury enriches the FXR-4 in-house integrated chronograph collection with a new expression: the FXR-4 Openwork.

This new edition does not replace the original FXR-4. It extends it. Where the initial versions expressed restraint and depth through controlled discretion, this Openworked edition embraces transparency as a consequence of mastery.

“The Heart Exposed” — Mechanical Truth Revealed

This new Jean-Marc Fleury edition places the caliber at the very heart of the experience. A sapphire dial reveals the 279 components calibre in unprecedented depth, while carefully opened bridges and new sculpted components allow light to penetrate the movement, offering a direct reading of its architecture, its energy, and its rhythm, beating at 21’600 vibrations per hour.

The manual-winding FM04 calibre, with dimensions of 32,5 x 6,5mm, is entirely manufactured and finished in-house. Its open construction enhances the dialogue between function and form, revealing the choreography of levers, wheels, and the column-wheel with horizontal clutch mechanism in motion.

Openworking a movement demands absolute mastery of traditional finishing techniques, combined with long, patient craftsmanship, as every surface is revealed and even the slightest imperfection becomes impossible to hide. Each chamfer, satin-brushed, mirror-polished or Côtes de Genève plane is executed by hand, in strict respect of classical horological codes.

The openworked sapphire dial is conceived with a minimalist approach providing only essential information: hours, minutes and chronograph’ s central seconds displayed on the external ring, running seconds and 30 minute counter are displayed respectively on the left and right ring. The date and day/night indicator on the bottom counter, set by a push-button at 8 o’clock.
Numbers and indexes are engraved and white-inked for maximum precision.

In an endless pursuit of excellence, the hour and minute hands are meticulously hand-finished with bercé polishing, creating a gently domed profile that catches and reflects the light at all times, while the additional hands are hand-satin-brushed, polished, or red lacquered.
