In automatic watches, a bidirectional micro-rotor converts kinetic energy – motion from the wearer’s arm – into potential energy for the mainspring, no matter the direction the micro-rotor is turning in. It is this efficiency that appealed to Romain Gauthier when he designed Insight Micro-Rotor. turns the A11B (Basis) into the A11S (jumping second). And its installation in the slim 38.5 mm case means Felix now has a twin brother named Erwin. Erwin is at least as handsome and just as big as its older twin, although slightly more plump. Its movement with the jumping second is still a slim 5.7 mm and its 9 mm case fits comfortably beneath even snug-fitting sleeve cuffs. This is made possible by the new design of the jumping second that is much flatter in comparison to earlier hand-wound watch movements with this little complication.

Ressence-Type 5 Diver

Ressence Type5 is a unique new direction for Benoit Mintiens and his team at Ressence. A direction which incorporates some of the knowledge acquired with the development of the Type1 and Type3 and some new developments unique to Type5. Ressence-Type5 had the design goal to create a unique sport diver in the Ressence style, as only Benoit Mintiens and his team can do. Of course, this means orbital time keeping where a set of dials function within a rotating “mother dial” to have all time on the dial(s) in motion.Type5 is an oil filled model, just as Type3. Type5 features hours, minutes, seconds and a thermal gage which indicates the ambient temperature of the oil under the lens.
